How to play
Secordle is six 5-letter words woven into one grid — three across (TOP, MIDDLE, BOTTOM) and three down (LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT). Words share letters wherever they cross, so a letter you confirm in one word often helps solve another.
Only green (confirmed) letters ever appear in the shared grid. Green and yellow letters both show up in the individual word tiles below the grid — yellow just means the game knows that letter belongs somewhere in that word, even though the grid itself won't reveal it until it's placed correctly.
What the colors mean
Tips
- Each word is scored separately. A letter can be green in one word and gray in another — they only share meaning at the exact crossing square.
- The FOUND field under each word fills in as you confirm letters, even before you've solved the whole word.
- The on-screen keyboard grays out letters you've already guessed, so you can track what's left at a glance.
- Guesses must be real words — the game checks each one before scoring it, so a red flash means try a different word.
- For your first three guesses, pick words that together cover 15 distinct letters, including all 5 vowels (A, E, I, O, U). Casting a wide net early narrows down all six words at once, instead of guessing blind on any single one.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get more puzzles?
The app comes with 50 free puzzles. Tap "Unlock 10,000+ Puzzles" at the top of the screen to purchase full access — it's a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and unlocks the entire library permanently.
I already bought the unlock — how do I get it back on a new phone or after reinstalling?
Tap "Restore purchases" at the bottom of the screen while signed into the same Apple ID you used to buy it. This restores your unlock without charging you again — no need to contact us for this one, it's instant.
I bought the unlock but the app still shows the free puzzles.
Try tapping "Restore purchases" first — this fixes the vast majority of cases. If that doesn't work, email us with the order confirmation from your purchase and the email address on your Apple ID, and we'll help sort it out.
The app crashed or a puzzle seems broken.
Email us with your device model (e.g. iPhone 15), your iOS version, and, if it's a specific puzzle, roughly what you were doing when it happened. That's usually enough for us to track it down.
